At a time when some countries are talking of so-called economic "decoupling" and 'de-risking,' China is preparing to host its first ever International Supply Chain Expo.
Smart car and green agriculture supply chains are among the focal points of the inaugural event to be held in Beijing in November. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, which is organising the Expo, has held road shows in more than 30 countries and regions to invite enterprises to take part. To date, over 300 companies from 50 countries and regions have signed up, with U.S. firms making up the largest group of foreign multinationals.
REN HONGBIN Chairman China Council for the Promotion of International Trade "Companies will see more of how upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises work together at our supply chain expo. So it's not only about promoting trade, investment and innovation. More importantly we want to promote cooperation along the supply chain, because these cooperations are the most long-term and sustainable."
ZHANG YIHAO President & CEO GE HealthCare China "We have been cultivating supply chain in China for 32 years. We now have 1,000 suppliers in China. We hope that through this supply chain expo, we can integrate more Chinese suppliers into our supply chain system and take them to the world. We also hope to bring more international suppliers into our system in China."
